Happy 3rd Birthday - SiftMed's Year in Review

It’s time for our favourite thing - birthday celebrations. Whenever there’s a party, we’re having cake. However, this time it’s for SiftMed! 

We’re working hard at being an industry disruptor and revolutionizing the way experts process medical records. From growing our team, our product, and building remarkable relationships, we want to take this opportunity to reflect on the milestones, achievements, and moments that have shaped SiftMed’s journey over this past year.  

This time last year, SiftMed announced its rebrand. We spent months making the shift from ReportMate to SiftMed, we launched a new look, feel, and vision for the company. The rebrand helped put SiftMed on the map and allowed us to embark on a journey to reach our target audience. 

Innovation has always been at the forefront of SiftMed’s success, and some things will never change. We’ve invested hours in R&D and have worked with some tremendous people/ firms, and users to better understand how SiftMed can push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Our talented team of developers has introduced groundbreaking solutions that can really shape the future of medical record review. More importantly, they share themed scorecards and hilarious memes to keep us updated on progress. 

From categorization to chronology creation, we continued to deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customers. 

Three years ago, SiftMed was designed with the intention of finding the facts in medical data, and we’re proud to say that this remains true. Although a lot has changed, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to create a product that provides value to their day-to-day lives when working through a case. Through valuable feedback and insights, we enhanced our product, ensuring that SiftMed meets the evolving needs of our users.

We are committed to exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional value.

We closed our seed funding round at $2.73 million dollars; this round was led by the Atlantic Canadian female focused venture capital fund, Sandpiper Ventures. Other key investors in this round included Pelorus Venture Capital, along with a handful of strategic angel investors and industry experts. So far, this round has allowed the company to hire more staff and accelerate product development. Since inception, SiftMed has greatly benefited from support and investment from the Gov. of NL, through the Dept. of IET, and the Gov. of Canada, through the ACOA & NRC.

SiftMed is a unique company and to build that, we needed a passionate team. Over the past year, our team has grown immensely, and our team members have all shown resilience, adaptability, and just awesomeness! Despite the challenges, our team has demonstrated unwavering commitment and worked together to overcome all obstacles. Together, we’ve managed to reach new milestones and have fun while doing it.

We’re proud of our team, and each day we work together to foster a culture of collaboration and invest in each other’s growth and development. 

Our favourite part of the year is our ‘boil-up’ weeks. 

Newfoundland Boil-up - "a brew of tea, and sometimes a snack, often taken during a rest from work in the country or on a vessel."

We use these weeks to take a ‘rest or break’ for our regular hustle, come up for air and think strategically about where we are heading next - in between in a few axe throwing competitions. 

As we make another trip around the sun, we are filled with excitement for what lies ahead. We will remain dedicated to providing exceptional products, fostering innovation, flexibility, and change, and making a positive impact on the legal industry. We look forward to the laughs, smiles, and memes the next year will bring (and to see who can beat Holly in laser tag). With the support of everyone who has helped us get to where we are, we are confident that SiftMed will continue to thrive! 

Looking back, SiftMed’s past year represents a transformative period of growth, innovation, and resilience. We’re grateful for everyone who has been a part of the journey and who reaffirms our goals and values.

We’re ready to embark on another year filled with new opportunities, a lot of fun and we eagerly look forward to continuing our shared success.
